I Survived...Kind Of

16/30 [11/22/10]

Black Friday has come and gone and much to my surprise I have survived. Unfortunately, 2:30am is too early of a wake up call to document outfit photos. So what you are seeing today is the outfit I wore {quite} a few days ago. No worries, the 30 for 30 is still going strong. But I thought I'd take a break from the all black ensembles and give myself a few extra moments of sleep.

Linley and Ashley J. have tagged me in the 7 secrets. So without further rambling ado....

I have naturally curly hair. I'm an expert hair straightener, a skill I have perfected over the past 10 or so years so. I bet you couldn't even tell, could you?

I'm deathly afraid of snakes. I can't even look at them! Not on tv, in a book, or even a fake one. Absolutely despise them. Eww.

I was a professional sorority girl. After college, I traveled the country {and lived out of 2 suitcases - my first remixing challenge you might say} for 2 years working for my sorority, Delta Zeta, as a consultant.

My picture was in People Magazine. True story, a long one, but true.

My hair color is a recent development. For the first 25 years {give or take} I was a brunette, but it's been fun experimenting with "a lighter shade of me" over the past year.

I'm a history nerd. In college I majored in History {emphasis on WWII} and pretty much loved every minute of it. That is until I realized that I didn't want to go Law School and that my degree was pretty much useless.

I used to be a ref. In addition to being a history nerd, I'm also a bit of a tomboy. In fact, I played so many intramural sports in college, I opted to get paid and become an official.

Okay that's it! Hope you all had a fabulous Thanksgiving! I'm off to watch Love Actually and rest for yet another workday tomorrow.

  3. I was a history minor. :) Love it! Also, wanna teach me your flat iron skills? I suck at it. Which one do you use? Products? My hair is that weird beachy/wavy/curly sometimes, frizzy all the time texture. BLECH!

Did you buy anything for yourself on Black Friday? I know it was a remix no-no, but I slipped up on one item! Eeps!

  5. I love how you post all these random half-stories. Now you're going to need to explain how you were in People magazine! And what exactly does a sorority consultant do? I never would have guessed you have naturally curly hair.

My boyfriend recently graduated with a degree in history. He's trying to find something to do with it.

  11. Well I was in People Magazine because I was a sorority consultant. To be honest it wasn't at all anything glamorous. In a nutshell I was 1 of 7 consultants who traveled around the country working with our collegiate chapters on operations, recruitment and leadership development.

  12. Oh goodness! I'll have to take a picture of the magazine the next time I'm home, but trust me the story is anything but cool.

  13. I have crazy frizzy hair too. I've actually been getting the Brazilian Blowout for the past 6 months which helps A LOT. But before that (and sometimes still) I used Bumble & Bumble Tonic Spray and Straight Serum and I always round brush my hair dry and then flat iron. It's quite the process but I've gotten it down to a precise system after 10 years.
