{Top & Belt: NY & Co., Cardigan: Martin & Osa, Pants & Necklace: Express, Boots: Target}
Entering into the Thanksgiving Holiday, and on the verge of exhaustion, I started seeing my clothes by levels of comfort {hello, I’m turning into my mother}. Enter this ensemble. What’s more comfortable than a forgiving pair of pants, a loose top and a cardigan? Throw on some accessories and I should be good to go, right? Wrong.
Unfortunately, what I did not consider was the comfort of my boots. To my demise, I thought these boots were broken in. What I didn’t realize is that “broken in” is extremely different when it comes to my two jobs.
After 2 hours of standing at job #2, my feet were on fire. And by the time I left I was hobbling around as if I had some serious injury. One person even stopped to ask me if I was okay while walking to my car.
Oh yes, don’t mind me. I’m fine thanks. I’m just limping because I’m an idiot. A shoe idiot.
So note to self, only wear these cute little suede booties while working at job #1. Because the only thing these boots are broken in for – is sitting at a desk all day. No standing or walking included.
That outfit is simple yet chic. I love that about your outfits.
ReplyDeleteOh, I've done that before with the shoes...not fun, not at all.
I love an outfit that has the perfect combination of comfort and chic-ness :)
ReplyDeleteI had that same situation with my booties at church on Sunday. I thought they would be alright for a few hours but by the time I got home I could barely walk. It always seems the cutest shoes are the most uncomfortable, ugh!
OMG that happens to me all the time! I think "Oh these shoes are super comfy" so I wear them to walk all around town and end up with blisters and aching feet!! Two peas in a pod!
ReplyDeleteI like this outfit. I love your blog. And don't worry I think at some point as much as we fight it... we all turn into our mothers.

Aww I hate it when that happens. That's the reason I've been avoiding my heels in this challenge is I don't want to hobble around. I love the blouse you have on here though, so you looked great well hobbling.
ReplyDeletewell, you look adorable...but agree shoes should not cause pain!
ReplyDeleteI love the outfit. I hate that your shoes were uncomfortable. :(
ReplyDeleteAnd I really like your hair that way!!
You look so chic!

love this black and brown look! and i know the feeling... the moment you realize your shoes weren't a great decision and it's too late to do anything about it. hope your feet feel better!
ReplyDeletefound your blog via the 30 for 30 participants on kendi everyday... took a peek because i'm thinking about participating in the challenge too! you're adorable!!

Ahhh...the dreaded unbroken in shoe. Gets me every time. Hopefully they will eventually get broken in and will be able to be worn for more than just sitting!

I've absolutely misjudged shoes for being comfy before. It's awful. Glad you eventually made it through.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
ReplyDeleteThose boots are much better suited for minimal walking, but now I know.
ReplyDeleteThanks Beth Ellen!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kayla... your blog is adorable! I'm a follower now!
ReplyDeleteCute outfit! I love the print of your top! :)
ReplyDeleteOh, I feel your pain (literally). I have ended many a workday hobbling to my car after wearing new high heels to work (and I have an office job. I'm a wuss).
ReplyDeleteYour outfit (minus the shoe issue) looks both comfy and stylish at the same time. Jealous!
if i could count the times that i've had shoe catastrophes like the one you just described. haha! i love that top.
ReplyDeletelove your outfit xxxx
