I have an issue {actually I may or may not have a lot of issues}, but this particular issue is my love/hate relationship with blazers. As a working girl I love the idea of blazers - they have great structure, they're crisp and of course professional. The hate part, unfortunately, is that I never can seem to incorporate them into my wardrobe, so they're left hanging in an obscure part of my closet collecting dust.
I bought this particular blazer with the intent of wearing it a lot. It's a bit longer {which I love}, it has a beautiful lining {adore} and fits like a glover {hallelujah}. You'd think considering all of the above, I would have managed to style it more than twice. Well friends, I haven't. But I promise I'm going to try.
Love how the scarf adds nice pop of color to the outfit!
ReplyDeleteI seem to have trouble with blazers too at times. I wore one actually last week with a sequined top and pink skirt and realized that my blazer probably needs to to be a size bigger. Yours looks super cute and comfy.
You don't have a issue with blazers. You look great! I have several boyfriend blazer which do tend to be a bit masculine. My remedy is to pair them with really girly pieces. Think ruffles, florals, etc. I think dresses work particularly well. Side note: love the scarf.
ReplyDeletei have the hardest time incorporating blazers into my wardrobe. they look so nice on other people but whenever i put one on i feel like i'm wearing someone else's clothes.
ReplyDeleteYou look so cute! My favorite way to wear blazers is over a dress - particularly a really girly dress. I love the contrast.
ReplyDeleteI struggle with wearing them over a skirt without looking too matchy-matchy, but you pulled it off here.

i have the same problem with blazers!! they look good on the hanger, photograph nicely, but i think i feel somehow kind of stiff or too grown up whenever i wear them.
ReplyDeletebut then i see other people wearing them and i love them! you'll be my inspiration when i get back to my blazer :)
I loveeee that color on you! Its the perfect pop of color to your outfit, you have a great smile!
ReplyDeletelooks like you did a fabulous job of incorporating the blazer today! i've only recently purchased a blazer (actually two) and i get what you are saying. i think they are tricky in that they are universally flattering, but not to the one wearing them. get it? no? oh well.
ReplyDeleteI like this outfit and the two different shades of purple. The color of the scarf is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteOh I have an issue with blazers too... :P Hehe, I love this one!

Love this blazer! You should definitely try to incorporate it more! Just throw it over anything blaaaaaah, like jeans and a t-shirt! Instant dress-up!
ReplyDeleteGIRL! Work that blazer...they are so awesome and this one looks great on you!
ReplyDeletep.s. love those boots! :)
It's kind of like phones. When you have to be on the phone for work it takes the fun out of talking on it. I find that a lot of things I see as "transition" pieces between work and everyday are the ones that never make it over to the other side.
ReplyDeleteThanks Kara! This is the first blazer that actually fits me well so I'm hoping to have better luck with it.
ReplyDeleteBlazers always fit me a bit weird (I totally relate to your stuffy comment), but I think I got the sizing right with this, I hope.
ReplyDeleteYes I definitely get what you're saying! And I agree, that's probably why I totally loved your outfit post with the blazer, right? ha.
ReplyDeleteThanks lady!
ReplyDeletecute blazer! It's one of the hardest things to find just perfect - and once you do it's such a staple!

Great blazer! I have two black blazers that I just toss on over everything. But truthfully I have no always been so into them. One of them, in fact, sat in my closet barely used for about four years before it became my closet workhorse. I don't know exactly what changed...a combo of my body, my style, and figuring out how to cuff those sleeves just right!
ReplyDeleteOkay, Today is December 31st, 2010 and I'm just finding your blog. I was constantly looking for fashion blogs where people wear real clothing and not outfits put together for clowns. Sometimes the things people put together on their blogs look like nothing I could wear to work or even on the weekend. Your blog was perfect however because the majority of my time is spent at work!!!! I chose to comment under this outfit because I just bought a grey skirt from the thrift store and your outfit gave me the idea of getting a pair of off colored tights and a scarf to match!!! Wala!!! a whole new outfit. I already have a blazer in my closet to go with the outfit. Well just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate your blog and how it's given me new excitement about getting dressed in the morning for work. WOW!!! a new lease on fashion!!! lol.
