You may have heard that today is gingham style day {or as Kendi astutely proclaimed, we are the Gingham Gang}. The blogsphere is full of love for gingham shirts. So with that in mind and bit of help from twitter, I reached out to some of my favorite style bloggers. Thanks to Jen, Kendi, Linda, Linley and Tania for participating in this little style experiment.

I’m a little late to the posting party {blame work, not me} but I suppose more responsibility is what comes with a promotion? Yes, this girl got a big girl promotion. It’s been a busy week at work to say the least and posting has been sporadic at best. But I’m wearing gingham today and I am oh so happy about it. Guys, I think I’m in love. Not that kinda of "crazy, makes your heart pound, almost silly" love. More that "I love you, I never want to wear anything else" kinda love. It’s a struggle not to wear this beauty everyday, but with a closet {actually 2 closets} of other lovely pieces, I’m trying to spread the love.

But with an inclination towards obsessive tendencies {thank you Mom} and a love this strong, it’s hard to deny my gingham obsession. Speaking of obsessive tendencies, I’ve been keeping track of my gingham wearing days. I won’t share the exact figures {boring}, but I will share with you photos {fun}. Let’s just say that this little shirt of mine has worked itself into my daily outfits pretty flawlessly.

ohh i love it with the dark pink--you've rocked at remixing this shirt! i can't wait to keep remixing mine.
maybe we should make the first friday of every month gingham day...

  4. i like that idea, Tania! Maybe a Flickr group with lots of different remixes of "the gingham shirt"?

  5. Thanks Tania! Linda and I were talking about maybe doing something monthly but picking a different piece to style. She suggested Everyday, Everywear. I think would be great to see how different bloggers style 1 specific piece.

  6. Great idea Linley! Linda and I were talking about picking a different staple piece every month, but we could always stick to gingham!

  7. I love this trend. I keep having to tell myself "no you just wore it" but then I typically end up going against my better judgement and throwing on the gingham anyway. Just found your blog and LOVE IT. you and your outfits are so cute!

  17. yeah! for the promotion! Between you and Kendi I'm going to end up having to buy a little gingham blouse of my own. Maybe this is how my spending has gone up since I started blogging, so many girls styling up cute clothes!

  18. Thanks Betsy! I totally know what you mean about spending going up - that happened when I started reading style blogs, but I've tried to tone that down ALOT. With that said, I'm a huge proponent of purchasing a gingham shirt. :)

  25. I suppose that's all up to me! I'm in the same office, work with the same people, so my dressing may not have any noticeable differences.

  26. i always feel dress for the job. If you get a promotion show them you mean business by dressing even better and saying i'm here. Higher heels def do the trick. maybe a 4 inch or 5 inch pump? worth a shot. Also how about more pencil skirts and trying some full suits that are age appropriate though.
