I could tell a little white lie and say this look is the result of pure 30 for 30 magic, but I can't do that to you guys. If you're a J Crew cataglog fanatic like myself, you'll likely be able to recall this ensemble's better half {if not, said better half is below for your viewing pleasure}.

I was starting to get a bit worried that with the rising temperatures, this outfit wouldn't see the light of the day. But the weather gods blessed with my almost freezing temperatures and I almost jumped with joy {okay, I shivered with joy}! Now will some put a call into Jenna Lyons and pass along my gratitude for styling such an adorable outfit?

  1. Adorable. I love the scarf especially. I love wearing pencil skirts but I always find they gape and ride up right at the waist. Maybe I'll have to try one out from J. Crew and see if it's any better. Any excuse to shop there is a good one!

  9. I have been searching for that skirt on ebay for months now. Kind of sad that I didn't purchase it full-price-- I hate pining after clothing that is no longer acquireable. Love this page out of their lookbook- perfect parts nice and casual.

  13. You REALLY nailed the execution of this look, in fact, I think I like your interpretation better. So, you're channeling J Crew, and I'm channeling YOU and your look from yesterday. Thanks for your ideas and inspiration!

  14. ah, yes, we do have to get one last good wear out of these items that aren't really fitting for spring/summer. i don't know about you, but spring is pretty much here in AL - so the cords (and looks like the wool) needed one last appearance! Although, I followed that link of yours to the J Crew website, and I am really liking the light grey version of this skirt...

  28. I love how you put that together, Liz! I think I even like your look more than the J.Crew inspiration because I like the color of your chambray much better with that skirt. Altogether completely lovely!
