See that title up there? That would be my lame attempt at making a Lord of Rings of joke. If you got my Return of the King / Return of the Tree humor then we surely the best of bloggy friends. But back to this tree {not that I don’t love Tolkien, cause I do! But this blog is not about THAT obsession}. Due to a bitter winter here in Kentucky, the park has been looking rather grim as of late. So rather than using a brown, decayed landscape as my backdrop today, I’ve opted to return to the tree {get it?}.

Today was also my first “caught in the moment” moment. I’m almost certain this lady made an extra lap around the park trying to discern what the eff I was up to. I tried my best to explain it was for style posterity {isn’t that what a self timer and repeated posing say?} but I don’t think she was able put two and two together. In addition to being caught in the park {and the rain ruining my ‘do} this is also my look for Everybody, Everywear. In case you didn’t get the memo*, it’s Blazer Day. And if you're wearing your blazer don’t forget to submit to EBEW. Please and thank you.

Any persons who lost said memo somewhere in the infinite abyss of the internet should go ahead and add EBEW to their reader.

  1. Great blazer, you lovely girl! Love how you styled it with a lacy skirt + red tights.
Maybe the lady will join in on our EBEW fun, too!

  3. I need to get a tripod so that I don't have to wait until my boyfriend gets up or gets home from work to take my pictures...that's awesome that you got "caught". I'm sure she was confused. Sometimes when I'm walking around a crowded place, though, I wonder if there are any other people near me who took pictures of their outfits that day! There are so many in the blogging world I bet it's happened before.

hehe! You are too cute. I have totally been caught in the act at the park. Once a lady asked me if I need some help. Apparently, she could see that I was struggling in my many laps back and forth to the tripod. You'd think people had never seen someone take a self portrait before. LOL!!!! (wait, I have never seen that before...until I became a fashion blogger...maybe my husband is right...we are a strange lot).

Love your red tights and lace skirt...and of course, I love the blazer!

  18. Ok so I'm not Tol-keen (uh huh huh huh) but I still giggled at your post title even before I knew the reference. Just sounded important. :) And ya know as many people that have passed by me during outfit posts, not a ONE has asked me what I was doing. Thank goodness, b/c they best be prepared for a "your mama" kind of reply. WHATDOESITLOOKLIKEIMDOINGGENIUS.

Oh and you look way cute :D

  24. LOTR are my favorite books AND movies ever!! So I love the Entish feel of your tree background :) In fact, I hope you refer to this tree as Treebeard from now on :).

And I LOVE this look! Way to totally rock colored tights in a completely professional way! I'm using you as an outfit inspiration!

  25. How amazingly fun and cheerful that you added those great red tights! And the lace skirt with the denim shirt too. So much greatness mixin' it up here.

  30. This lady was walking like 10 dogs and they were pulling her around and I could tell she was trying to hold them back so she had more time to figure out what I was doing.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I'm still bummed I couldn't find this skirt in your size. It was all 10s and 12s. Good for me, not so much for you. You should totally venture to a park for photos - the odd looks you'll get are well worth it.

  32. I really had to refrain myself from making a tree beard comment but I didn't want to geek out too many of readers.

  41. Yay, I got the memo! It didn't get lost under the piles of laundry and sippy cups this week;) Although, my look isn't nearly as cute as this - red tights?? Shut up.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I don't even want to know what would happen if I tried taking pictures by myself, outside, everyday. I'm also loving the colored tights! I don't know how I made it through the last challenge with only black, but I remedied that situation very quickly. And yes, I got the memo :)

    ReplyDelete
  43. I love your blazer look. Like that we both thought "blazers, skirts, and bright tight", even if I didn't wear mine all day.

    ReplyDelete

  56. If you're really a LotR nerd, you'll enjoy that I grew up on Ent Road. Not being a LotR nerd, I never got why that excited some people so much. Does that mean we can't be friends? :(

However, I'll be a nerd of another kind and point out that tree has a parasite growing on it. But don't worry, it's not contagious.

Love, love, love the necklace with the collared shirt!
