{Dress: Love Culture, Cardigan: J Crew, Necklace: Macys, Tights: Express, Boots: Steve Madden}
Is it just me or I am pushing the proportional boundaries with this ensemble? Maybe this cardigan is just that long. Or maybe {hopefully not} this dress is a bit short. Thankfully, black opaque tights make this maybe/maybe not too short for work dress office appropriate. Oh just one of the many reasons I have a love affair with tights. Not only do they keep my legs cozy all winter long, they also allow me to push my hemline limits. Just to be safe, I did put this dress through the ultimate “is this too short for work” test aka the finger tip test. It passed {in case you were worried}.
Loving this look, it's absolutely adorable Liz! I know what you mean about tights, I love that I can pair them with my super short dresses. Have a great day. xx veronika
ReplyDeleteYou look gorgeous! The dress does not look that short with the opaque tights.
ReplyDeleteLooks great to me, seems like as long as the cardi isn't longer than the dress then it works! Thick opaque tights are the only reason I don't feel self conscious wearing my winter shorts, still feels like I have full coverage!
ReplyDeletei love the print of this dress and think that the length is ok for work. i also follow the general rule of the fingertip test! and i think the longer cardigan also helped make the outfit totally work appropriate. love it!
ReplyDeletecute and little
Fantastic silhouette. I think the proportions are just right, in fact!
ReplyDeleteNo, the dress is not too short, it's actually the perfect length for you! I love that dress, it's really cute!

I'm a big fan of the short dress, long cardi look. I think it makes it more casual and laidback. It really tones down a short dress or skirt!
ReplyDeleteThat dress is awesome especially the print! I think Blue loves you! I struggle with weather or not to belt the cardigan, but you seem to make it look easy!

i love a long cardigan with a shorter dress. makes me think of that cake song, short skirt long jacket. and i love tights because i feel like they hold so many flaws in and i never feel guilty about shoveling junk food in my mouth while i am wearing them. foolproof logic.
ReplyDeleteI love the outfit and totally think that it is still appropriate! The tights help a lot and it really looks cute :)
ReplyDeleteI think the proportions are great! But I'm loving mixed up lengths right now... reminds me of how Alexa Chung dresses :)
ReplyDeleteI Love the proportions...I also have on a short dress with a long cardi...TIghts work wonders for making dresses more appropriate...love that dress!
ReplyDeleteYou're always so cute. I was hoping for another Ryan story...no? Are you giving up? :)
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure I need a long cardigan in about 12 days!
I personally think these proportions are fantastic!! Love this outfit!
ReplyDeleteboth are just perfect and go well together :)

I always do the finger tip test. If it doesn't pass, sometimes I wear it anyway. Back in school when I would get in trouble for shortness of attire, I would always say, "My shorts aren't too short, my legs are too long." You have my permission to use this excuse.
ReplyDeleteNo, I actually LOVE the proportions of the dress to cardigan! I think you look great! I have an outfit similar to that and it's one of my favorite combinations!
ReplyDeleteThe dress and cardigan look fine together. The finger tip test reminds me of high school..lol Lovely outfit!
ReplyDeleteOk, good! I was a bit paranoid after seeing these photos. LOL.
ReplyDeleteThanks for letting me borrow your line friend :)
ReplyDeleteMaybe J Crew will still have this one on sale! It was like $20 and it's so cozy!
ReplyDeleteOh I will take that comparison any day.
ReplyDeleteThe Cake Song was my inspiration for the title!
ReplyDeleteI don't always like to belt cardigans....well not me, my hips don't particularly like it.
ReplyDeleteThanks Kileen!
ReplyDeleteThis is a cute and adorable outfit!
