Here's the thing about pattern mixing - sometimes it's genius, other times it looks like you got dressed in the dark. While my brain might not have been fully functioning, I can guarantee that all the lights were on when I got ready. In fact, I was kinda loving this outfit! But then the day wore on and I started doubting my pattern mixing skills {the odd looks from strangers didn't help either}. But hey at least I'm back with an outfit, right? I would say blame the wedding festivities for my lack of blog motivation but how can you hate on a bride this adorable {answer: you can't!}?

  1. I like your patten mix,  the top is bold and the skirt less so so it meshes well, those strangers were clearly just jealous, that or you had something on your face...just kidding!

  2. I like it! The mix is unexpected but cute, I think the floral goes really nicely with that neutral plaid. Maybe a darker belt would have tied the two together more smoothly? I like it in anycase! And yes, she's a gorgeous bride, and lucky you with such a great bridesmaid dress!

  8. I really like this! Maybe it's the pictures, but even though the skirt is patterned it seems really neutral. Anyways, you look lovely!

  9. Ooooookay.  First of all, your hair is mcFABulous.  And the side angle, side-view thing going on?  Way too much fun.  Seriously.  And I really like these pieces together!  It didn't even strike me as pattern mixing b/c the skirt's plaid is so subtle.  Also yay pretty weddings!!

  13. I think this is a great mix! Strangers are strangers...who cares what they think! For all you know, they're thinking "hey, I have that same shirt and never thought to mix it like that! I must give that a try" and they just have a weird thinking face. You dont know! haha ok, enough silliness. You look awesome and I'm jealous of your sunshine.

  14. The verdict is in, woman.  This is an awesome example of rocking out the pattern mixing.  I love the coherence via the pink and the sass w the floral/plaid mix.  Strangers can shut it.  :)

  15. I really like the mix of the two patterns. I think it works well because the skirt is a neutral color. I love your bridemaids dress! Especially the ruffle!

  19. I love the patter mixing you did here --- the outfit jumped off the page (figuratively, I suppose...)! The skirt is almost neutral, so it works for me! Also, can you really trust strangers and their odd looks??

  21.  I really like the outfits that you come up with to go to work! I was just wondering why don't you ever post outfits outside of work? I'm kind of curious to see how you dress outside of the work week.

  23. That is really subtle pattern mixing and I think you did it great. Sometimes everyday people just don't know how to respond to a really great outfit (at least that is what I tell myself).
