{Top: Anthro, Skirt: Thrifted, Belt: J Crew, Bracelet: F21, Shoes: Macys}
Here's the thing about pattern mixing - sometimes it's genius, other times it looks like you got dressed in the dark. While my brain might not have been fully functioning, I can guarantee that all the lights were on when I got ready. In fact, I was kinda loving this outfit! But then the day wore on and I started doubting my pattern mixing skills {the odd looks from strangers didn't help either}. But hey at least I'm back with an outfit, right? I would say blame the wedding festivities for my lack of blog motivation but how can you hate on a bride this adorable {answer: you can't!}?
I like your patten mix, the top is bold and the skirt less so so it meshes well, those strangers were clearly just jealous, that or you had something on your face...just kidding!

I like it! The mix is unexpected but cute, I think the floral goes really nicely with that neutral plaid. Maybe a darker belt would have tied the two together more smoothly? I like it in anycase! And yes, she's a gorgeous bride, and lucky you with such a great bridesmaid dress!
ReplyDeleteYou look so pretty! I love your hair, and your pattern mixing is perfection. Great photos!
ReplyDeletei always love how you mix patterns!! cute top and skirt!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Sandy!

ReplyDeleteb. you're the cutest bridesmaid EVER.
c. yesterday my i wore a flower pinned to my military-ish jacket, which garnered many compliments. i feel like all of that admiration should be directed to you, you know, your idea and all.
My vote is in favor of this outfit. I think it is light and happy and the pattern mix totally works! That bride has an awesome smile!

I really like this! Maybe it's the pictures, but even though the skirt is patterned it seems really neutral. Anyways, you look lovely!
ReplyDeleteOoooookay. First of all, your hair is mcFABulous. And the side angle, side-view thing going on? Way too much fun. Seriously. And I really like these pieces together! It didn't even strike me as pattern mixing b/c the skirt's plaid is so subtle. Also yay pretty weddings!!
ReplyDeleteOh you look so cute in that first picture! also glad to see more outdoor Liz and I LOVE the pattern mixing! i am always too afraid to do it. I really admire you for doing it all the time. I guess it's all about confidence and feeling pretty in it. btw: Absolutely adorable bride, but you also look really great there!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I like outdoor Liz too...I'm hoping she sticks around :)
ReplyDeleteMcThank You? McThank You!
ReplyDeleteThanks Emily!
ReplyDeleteI like the bold move and i think the outfit looks very cute :) just ignore those strangers
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great day
And the bride looks very beautiful
I think this is a great mix! Strangers are strangers...who cares what they think! For all you know, they're thinking "hey, I have that same shirt and never thought to mix it like that! I must give that a try" and they just have a weird thinking face. You dont know! haha ok, enough silliness. You look awesome and I'm jealous of your sunshine.
ReplyDeleteThe verdict is in, woman. This is an awesome example of rocking out the pattern mixing. I love the coherence via the pink and the sass w the floral/plaid mix. Strangers can shut it. :)
ReplyDeleteI really like the mix of the two patterns. I think it works well because the skirt is a neutral color. I love your bridemaids dress! Especially the ruffle!
ReplyDeletelove your style
ReplyDeletereally great!!!! congratulations honey!

ReplyDeleteI love the patter mixing you did here --- the outfit jumped off the page (figuratively, I suppose...)! The skirt is almost neutral, so it works for me! Also, can you really trust strangers and their odd looks??
ReplyDeleteLiz that top is gorgeous! And I think this is a fabulous mix of prints. Great job!
ReplyDeleteI really like the outfits that you come up with to go to work! I was just wondering why don't you ever post outfits outside of work? I'm kind of curious to see how you dress outside of the work week.
ReplyDeleteYou look adorable in that outfit!! Definitely a favorite!!
ReplyDeleteThat is really subtle pattern mixing and I think you did it great. Sometimes everyday people just don't know how to respond to a really great outfit (at least that is what I tell myself).
ReplyDeleteI love it!!
ReplyDeleteI love the patterns you wore here, Liz!
