{Top: JCrew, Skirt: Anthro Thrifted, Earrings: Borrowed, Shoes: Macys}
As a thrifting novice, I seriously lucked out finding this Anthropologie skirt with the tags still attached. I practically ran to the register to check out {and I may have even tipped the cashier}. But this was almost two months ago and haven't worn it until today. This skirt has posed a bit of style dilemma for me. I think it's the color that throws me off a bit {I've dubbed it periwinkle}. Sure navy and white would look good with this - but what else?
I ended up going with my first thought - a navy tee. Then I remembered these earrings! They are in transit to a friend of mine {I'm the courier between friends} so I borrowed them but ssshhh don't tell.
Lucky find! I love it. What thrift store did you find this little gem? Hmmmm...I wonder if a mustard yellow top would look cute with it? Or maybe coral. I'm curious to see everyone else's ideas :)
ReplyDeleteI'd try bright yellow with that skirt!
ReplyDeleteYou could even try a nice grass green as a shirt (or ellow as the ladies below me stated). It would really make the colors in your outfit pop and then throw on white shelled earrings and cute camel colored sandals(?) I can't believe you thrifted an Anthro skirt. You SUPER scored! Go you!
ReplyDeleteNice! I've found pieces with tags still on at thrift stores but wow, an Anthropologie skirt! The thrift Gods did shine on you, hah. I'd probably pair it with something soft pink in colour, or lavender, and if florals are involved, even better!
ReplyDeleteI'd say orange or purple or something contrasty! What a find! Love the outfit.
ReplyDeleteWow! What an awesome thrift store find! Bery jealous! The skirt is super cute and I like what you paired it with!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Angela about the coral, you should def try that out! Yellow would probably also look good.

Hi there! I found you from Jane Has A Job and after reading your About Me, I have to say that I loooove this blog concept. I too have a hard time balancing cute work-ready outfits, with my real-world Ashley-style. Looking at how you pair things together and WHAT you pair together really helps!
ReplyDeleteYou lucky duck! What a perfect skirt to find! I am really quite out of control with my color pairings but I think any solid colored top would be gorgeous like yellow or pink! I LOVE the navy too! You are fabulous.

So jealous! Love that skirt!!! I think a yellow or pink top with a brown belt and brown shoes.
ReplyDeleteLove the skirt -- great find! I bet you could wear all sorts of colors with it. Coral, pink, yellow, red maybe? You could also try belting a cardigan over it (once it gets cooler again, of course). =) It's super cute!
ReplyDeleteWhy not try coral or salmon with the periwinkle? Great find, though.
