{Top: NY&Co., Skirt: LOFT, Belt: JCrew, Shoes: Macys}
Have I mentioned I'm the youngest person in my office? On my floor? After almost three years I think it's started to stick that I am not the college intern. One lady on our floor {I say lady cause most people are closer to my parents age than my own} commented that I have the cutest outfits this summer. Usually, I am a little weary of the clothing compliments from co-workers {remember the Easter Egg comment?} but seeing as there were no comparisons to chocolate covered candy or furry bunnies I just smiled and said thanks. Although I wouldn't mind some chocolate right about now.
I know exactly how you feel. I'm one of the youngest in my office too, but I won't give in to dressing older than I am. They'll just have to get used to my bright and airy dresses this summer. :) Love that blue on you!
ReplyDeleteAdorable! That skirt is too cute. I'm the youngest in my department too. I started working here when I was 20 as an intern. The ladies in my department don't really understand my obsession with shoes and clothes. I think if they could do with out me at work for 6 months they'd send me to rehab.
ReplyDeleteI'm also the youngest in my office...isn't it so depressing sometimes?!
ReplyDeleteI love this skirt, is it polka dotted, or is that a crocheted overlay or something? Very cute in anycase, and I like the vibrancy of the blue you paired it with :)
Ack, don't say chocolate, I'll start craving it!
ReplyDeleteYou look beautiful in that shade of blue and what a lovely skirt! This is a fun but very classy and professional outfit. I love this!
Come take a look inside A Working Mom's Closet
That skirt is wonderful! Love it paired with the blue top.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, chocolate sounds great right now!

This is kinda the cutest outfit ever, I don't blame her. You tied your belt so perfectly!!! And how have I never seen that skirt at Loft?
ReplyDeleteI have that shirt! And I love how you paired it with the polka dots on the bottom! Might have to borrow that idea for an outfit later this week.
ReplyDeleteBtw, I'm Wendy, and I've been stalking...um...following your blog for awhile now. :) Just wanted to say hello and I love your style! It's refreshing to see a style blogger who has to dress professionally (ie can't wear all the cute short skirts and dresses most other bloggers get to wear because you actually work IN a real office). You mix patterns so well, and I just love all your outfits! :)
Oh, and I totally feel you on being wary of co-worker compliments. Last week I got asked if I was going to a hoe-down, and about a month ago was asked if I was planning on conducting any trains that day. Haha...I don't have a style blog, so I don't have proof that these outfits were legitimately stylish, but let's just say I feel your pain on the co-worker comments. :)
You look beautiful, Liz! I think this is one of your best outfits, so pretty and flattering!!

How funny! I am the youngest person in our firm as well. During breaks, they like to talk about "the good old 70's" and I just sit there politely and try not to look like I don't need to run to my locker before 5th period.
ReplyDeleteMmmm now I want chocolate too! Also, I feel your pain! I was the youngster at my old office. Then I changed jobs, and now I will always be the youngster because we are a company of only 5 people!
ReplyDeleteBut it is all okay because your outfits are awesome.

Thanks for pointing out the belt! That is one cute, perfectly tied loop that I may now need to try to replicate!
ReplyDeleteI work in construction, so 95-ish% of my coworkers are guys! I wore a fun scarf to work a few years ago and thus earned the nickname "Snoopy" every time I wear a scarf! However, I was pleasantly surprised when I did the PSS American Prep challenge and wore a tie to work...I thought it was going to be a tough day of comments, but instead, I got compliments! People are so unpredictable!
ReplyDeleteAt least you never get mistaken for a high school student. The other day, I actually had an older man ask me what I wanted to be when I grow up.
ReplyDeleteI really like color combination! That royal blue looks really good with the black and white pola-dot print! If you would've added a red belt, it would have been perfect for a fourth-of July work outfit!
ReplyDeleteI am going to have to agree with the lady in your office - I love your summer clothes! And I have to say I'm especially in love with your skirt collection. If you ever want to give some of them up for adoption, I promise to give them a good home. ;) - Katy
ReplyDeleteThis outfit is super cute - I love the skirt! And... now... now, I need some chocolate. Yup.
ReplyDeletei love being the youngest in the office too ;)
ReplyDeletei love the pink belt!

LOVE the polka dots!
ReplyDeleteChocolate candy bar coming right your way.
ReplyDeleteYou always have the cutest skirts. I notice this one is from the Loft. I often shop there. Did you get it this season? (do you mind if you did if I go and buy the same one!?)
ReplyDeleteI'm the youngest in the office as well by 10 years. It is definitely interesting and I am sure some view me as the silly young girl but I do my best to prove my age doesn't matter.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a pretty, classy outfit. You look fabulous!
ReplyDeleteGirl, I know how it feels to be the youngster. All I have to do is say I'm getting married, and I get a weird look and a "How old ARE you?" Never. ever. fails.
