I’ve received a few comments, e-mails and whatnot about my hair, so today I thought I’d talk about the number one hair care piece in my arsenal {and by arsenal I mean that entire cabinet in my apartment dedicated to brushes, products and tools}: the flat iron. To say I rely daily on my flat is an understatement. In fact, I rarely show my face to the outside world without at least one pass of the flat iron {or a big hat}. For the past week I have been using the Hana 1 ½ inch flat iron thanks to the generous folks at Misikko.com.
Since receiving the Hana 1 ½ inch flat iron, I've been alternating between straight and curled hair styles. It took me a day or two to adjust to using a wider flat iron {for reference my flat iron is 1 inch}, but I noticed almost immediately that my hair was softer and required less flat ironing. If you’re hair guru like myself, you’ll appreciate that the Hana is a ceramic flat iron with a number of heat settings {I automatically turned to the highest temp, 450°F}. If you’re someone who curls your hair with a flat iron, I highly recommend the Hana. I definitely preferred the looser curls that Hana created compared to my usual flat iron. All in all I really like this flat iron. The Hana definitely a great straigthener. If you're in the market for a flat iron that will keep your hair healthy while cutting down the amount of time you spend styling your hair, the Hana is for you!
You should look into a new hairdryer! I bought the Conair Infiniti Tourmaline Ionic dryer after just using a regular old dryer for years and it really makes a difference as far as drying time, frizz, and softness! Plus the concetrator attachment it has makes blowouts super easy :)
ReplyDeleteLove this tutorial.
ReplyDeleteI'm too lazy to blow dry and straighten daily, so I use a dry shampoo on most days and only wet shampoo once or twice a week. I've noticed my hair is WAY less frizzy AND I get to sleep in :-) I only touch up with my flat iron and slightly tease the crown, and I'm out the door! And I keep my hair in pigtails at the gym -- my hair gets less sweaty like that than in a regular ponytail. Am I weird?
What song is this? I really like it (I also really liked the tutorial :))!
ReplyDeleteWow, I'm SO lazy about my hair - I barely blow dry my bangs. This is such a great tutorial for getting hair very smooth -- I have thick and wavy hair too, but I tend to let it do it's thing most days (I wear it in a bun while it dries to help it smooth out).
ReplyDeleteYa know I really wish you weren't so funny, nice, sweet, and helpful b/c I'd really like to hate you for how pretty you are. If you are wondering who was hanging out on your page for like 20 mins, it was me clicking back through this video studying your every move. My hair thanks you!!
ReplyDeleteFences by Phoenix :)
ReplyDeleteyou got me blushing over here Monk.... and for the record your hair always looks stellar :)
ReplyDeleteI've tried letting my hair air dry a bit, but it just dries frizzier. But I love the bun for a quick remedy to any bad hair day.
ReplyDeleteBEST HAIR TUTORIAL ON THE WEB EVER!!! Love the fast forward. How long did it actually take? Do you wash your hair every day?
ReplyDeleteThanks Kathy! I usually wash my hair every 2-3 days {4 if I've been really lazy}. Typically it takes about 40 minutes to dry and flat iron.
ReplyDeleteLove the video! :)
ReplyDeleteYou have officially made me stop complaining about how long it takes me to do my hair. It takes me 15 minutes to blow dry and run my chi through it....my bf thanks you. lol
ReplyDeleteLIZ! so fun to see you in motion. not quiet as good as real life, but 2nd best!
ReplyDeleteok, wow, your hair looks fab and the video was great, you look so pretty! i rarely blow out my hair since it takes forever.
ReplyDeleteDo you do that every day!?!?!?!?! I would die. I have thick, frizzy hair too. Which is why I only wash my hair three times a week and only shampoo once a week. I use a blow dryer with a vent attachment and ceramic round brush to speed up blow drying. I also wash and blow dry at night. Sleeping on my hair helps with the frizz and poufy-ness.
ReplyDeleteNO! Lol. I wash my hair every two to three days. And I try to wash and dry at night too - it definitely helps with the frizz!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I usually only go through this process 3 days a week.
ReplyDeleteThanks lady!
ReplyDeletethanks so much for posting this! love the tutorial. :) and a wonderful blog! i'd love for you to check mine out and give a few of your opinions on it! :)

I watched this yesterday and I'm having a great hair day today. Thank you for the great tips!
ReplyDeleteLove the tutorial! I rarely use a straightener (my hair is already pin straight--don't hate me...I wish it was curlier), but I would love to use one for curls! They look so much more natural than ones done with a curling iron. Doesn't help that the Roomba caught hold of the curling iron cord and ripped it out of the back of the iron...let's just say I'm in the market for a new one. I'm going to look into the Hana! Oh, and PS. I use the B&B Tonic too! I love it!! Maybe it's the tea tree oil smell, but I can't live without it!
ReplyDeleteNow I know why you have awesome hair. Goodness, it looks like I need to take a lesson from you in blow drying. I have been using that straightener lately as well. And, Eric and I use Bb products, too! :)
ReplyDeleteafter watching that i want to hire you to come to my house and blow-dry my hair straight for me! i would never be able to use a round brush as well as you do! it's really interesting to see so many bloggers use this flat iron, it looks like such a great product!
ReplyDeleteI am totally available for hire...just kidding. Well maybe not. I always joke that I could have been a great hair stylist in another life.
