{Dress: Banana Republic, Sunglasses: Ray Ban, Bracelet: F21, Shoes: Nordstrom}
After coming down with a case of the icks, I thought I opt for one of my favorite dresses and take the extra step to curl my hair {it adds pizazz, no?}. I may not physically feel great, but at least I feel good in what I'm wearing. Plus I'm sporting a new lipstick so take that you silly sickness!
Also, looking at these photos it’s starting to look more and more like fall! {Yes, that’s an exclamation of excitement, rather than just an exclamation that indicates I’m yelling} It’s like the weather gods heard my inner plea for fall-like weather as I flipped through the latest J. Crew catalog last night. I mean after all those bold hues and wool fabrics…and COATS. Oh my gah, coats galore! {now that’s a yelling exclamation point} How could I not dream of autumn weather and falling leaves? Maybe if I think hard enough about the lottery maybe I can get the money gods on my side. Stay tuned.
I'm loving that artsy houndstooth dress!
ReplyDeleteUtterly amazing dress. The pattern, the shape, the color--totally perfect on you.
ReplyDeleteI react to sickness (and all-nighters) the same way, especially when I have to go to work. It's the full-nines of lipstick and heels and hair and cute outfit. If I feel like crap, I might as well look good.
Aaaaaaaaaaagreed, i cannot wait for fall! Layers! Blazers! BOOTS!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat lipstick are you wearing? Loves it! And the dress.. is that a new BR purchase? Like something I could find in my store?
ReplyDeleteDon't forget to report back on the money gods...

This dress is awesome. Simple awesome dresses are the perfect solution to getting dresses on 'days that I do not feel well'. Your hair looks super sweet too. Love the curls.
ReplyDeleteThat is great dress- I totally think that taking time to look good on the outside, helps you conquer feeling icky on the inside (most times!). Its a great way to not let a cold/flu/wrong-side-of-the-bed day defeat you.

That dress is great! I too am excited for Fall to get here. I'm always excited for any season change really. Just another excuse for shopping!!
ReplyDeleteWhile you're at it, think of me winning the lotto too. It was just a suggestion . . .
ReplyDeleteAs always, you have the world's best hair. Love your pick me up dress!
Great dress!!
ReplyDeleteSmart move! Doesn't a great look always make you feel a little better? Normally a big all-over print intimidates me when I see it on the hanger, but you're convincing me that it can be VERY flattering and slimming. I'm going to try that today. You've inspired me. :)

ReplyDeleteI am having the same experience, all those fall catalogues. and just now we have another heat wave hitting. How does that work together? Loving your dress!!
ReplyDeleteTotally with you! Everything you listed just makes me so much for excited for fall!
ReplyDeleteMAC Brave Red - but don't let the name fool you it's pretty sheer.
ReplyDeleteI got my student loan package today - does that count? Are you out there Money Gods, it's me Liz!
ReplyDeleteLOL Hey I'll take all the compliments you're dishing out. You sure know how to make a girl feel good!
ReplyDeleteIt is! Totally an instant pick me up.
ReplyDeleteI think that DOES count! Woah! What other magical powers do you have?!?!
ReplyDeleteYour hair looks great and I'm loving the print on that dress! I'm so, so ready for fall to get here too. It was 99 degrees here yesterday, still in the 90s today. All I want is to be able to layer, but anything more than a breezy dress is unbearable! So, I hope the weather gods (and money, too!) get on our side soon!
ReplyDeletei agree with the true blood, football, and yuengling comment a couple days back - additionally, this dress! i have it! it's a favorite of mine - i just don't really have too many reasons to wear it... but it looks great on you! we need to figure out this living-closer thing. (:
ReplyDeleteVoguish, classy, ravishing!!
ReplyDeleteThat's a fantastic dress, I can see why it's one of your favourites. Glad you're feeling a little better, bummer about being ill this time of year though.
ReplyDeleteFabulous dress! Love the print and colors.
ReplyDeleteYou do?! How funny! Maybe we can plan a weekend get together sometime in the fall. Maybe it can be my fall break from grad school :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Alli! It creeped back up to the 90s here again. Crossing my fingers for some prolonged cooler weather some time soon.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great dress! And your hair? Totally pretty.
ReplyDeleteOh, and would you send me some fall? I will gladly accept it by email, text message, or even snail mail. Thanks!
Love the dress - the colors are amazing and the print looks like houndstooth)))
