Throne Project 3
Individual Photos By: Graham Haehnle

Because I'm bad at keeping secrets, you may have seen a few hints about the #ThroneProject here on the blog and on instagram. But today, the cat is out of the proverbial bag. Here's the gist...

A few weeks back a group of local bloggers were involved in a photo shoot organized by Queen City Vignette. The whole shoot felt very Vanity Fair. From the edgy warehouse, to the plush furniture, and of course the glamorous ensembles. As a blogger, the pitch had me squealing.

The result is the beginning of the #ThroneProject, the creative idea of the QVC founders, Emma Durham and Amber Zaragoza. Essentially the project will be an ongoing collaboration between Cincinnati's creatives, our city's beautiful spaces, and uniquely curated pieces.

If you don't know, QVC is a local rental company with an array of vintage-inspired pieces from seating to decor, i.e. the #thrones. The project will pair local bloggers, photographers, and unique Queen City locales. I wasn't able to get my hands on an iron throne {sorry, obligatory GoT reference}, but rest assured my piece is pretty cool.

Be on the look out for more collaborations and be sure to check Queen City Vignette's website for updates along the way.

Sweater: Ann Taylor • TopKit + Ace • Jeans: J Brand • Necklace: Stella & Dot • Boots: Sam Edelman

This might not be the most stylish sweater, but let me just tell you it sure is one of the most comfortable!

I picked this cardigan up 2 years ago when I won a local Ann Taylor contest. I loved the marbled grey color and long drapey style, but it's not the most blog friendly piece. The neckline can look a little messy in photos, the texture is more impressive in person, you get the idea...

But here's the thing, I love this sweater and I wear it quite a bit {mostly on my couch relaxing} so it's going on the blog. While I don't adhere 100% to the "if I wear it, I will blog it" mantra, I am today.

Anthropologie Holiday Fashion Show

Last night was an Anthropologie lover's dream come true -- the Anthropologie Holiday Fashion. I participated in the show last year and loved every minute of it, so I quite literally jumped {and squealed} at the chance to give it a go this year.

Here are a few highlights of the 2 looks I wore in the show. The bonus this year was that a few of my friends from Thread Cincinnati participated with me.

There is nothing like a great scarf. The only better than a great scarf, in my opinion, is a scarf with a great purpose. I am Bené {meaning good} because I have the freedom to be me. Because I have the privilege to collaborate with a group of talented bloggers. Because creativity is beautiful. #BenéBoss

Bené is a scarf company committed to providing education to girls in Ghana. The actual #BenéBosses, Michelle and Sasha, were inspired by a study abroad trip to Ghana. In 2013, they made their vision a reality as they partnered with SISTAWorks to invest in the girls' tuition, supplies, uniforms, and eventually their future as self-sufficient women. Each scarf purchased directly benefits the girls in Ghana.

So yeah, this scarf is my new favorite. Style points for sure, but more importantly for merit.
Buy a scarf, educate a girl. That's a mission I change get behind. And so can you.

Check out Bené, find a scarf that tickles your style fancy and use the code THREADCINCY for 15% off your purchase. Shopping never felt so good.

Thread X Kendra Scott Event

Last week, Thread Cincinnati hosted a shopping party at the new Kendra Scott store at the Liberty Center. You don't have to ask me twice to play with sparkly jewelry and hang out with the gals of Thread so the evening did not disappoint!

For one, the Kendra Scott store is absolutely gorgeous {I've never seen such good indoor lightning. Seriously, I didn't think it existed}. And then there's the jewelry... It's pretty incredible. Plus with Cincy Organic Stylebar and delicious treats Firecracker Bakery, it was pretty much a slam dunk event.

I really enjoyed getting to see the KS Color Bar in full effect. If you're not familiar with KS, it's essentially a massive touch screen that lets you customize piece. You pick the style, metal, stones, and a few minutes later you're done. Basically it's magic.

Turns out I've already written a post titled "Plaid About You" and "Plaid For You". How many other Plaid Puns are out there? Leave your best ones in the comments for posterity. Either way, it seemed appropriate to break out my plaid blazer for a fall spin. And by spin, I mean day at the office followed by a shopping party at Kendra Scott {more to come on that later...}

And how cute are those elbow patches? This end of season sale piece really has become a great fall/winter staple for me. Here's to hoping plaid stays in style a few more seasons.

Stella & Dot | Dot Dollars

And just like that Dot Dollars are back starting today! As a customer, this was always my favorite time to shop Stella & Dot. For every $50 you spend, you earn $25 to shop with later. With the holiday season coming up, knock out some of your shopping and earn Dot Dollars to treat yourself later.

High Style | The Cincinnati Art Museum

High Style 1

Last week, I attended a preview of the new High Style exhibit at the Cincinnati Art Museum with a few gals from Thread.

The exhibit -- High Style: Twentieth-Century Masterworks from the Brooklyn Museum Costume Collection runs now until January 24, 2016. High Style traces the evolution of fashion from 1910 through 1980 with garments and accessories by the most influential European and American designers of the 20th century, including, Schiaparelli, Chanel, Dior, Givenchy, Norell, Scaasi, and Charles James, among others.
{yeah, my jaw hit the floor too}

The @cincyartmuseum #HighStyle preview did not disappoint! Chanel, Dior, Givenchy, basically a bloggers dream exhibit #threadcincy  #cincinnati

If you're in Cincinnati, I highly recommend checking out the exhibit. I plan on making a second trip over the holidays.

Okay, so these pants are actually leopard print {right?}, but "leopard print your heart out" doesn't quite have the same ring to it.

I hadn't been to Old Navy in a while and was pleasantly surprised to find these pants {and a few other goodies} on a recent trip. True to form the price point for these pants was, well, on point. I have hard time spending more money for an item that will likely only come out a few times a year. So since I don't plan on donning my cat pants weekly, the $25 price tag made me feel better about taking these puppies kitties {see what I did there} home with me.

I couldn't resist adding my favorite mixed metal necklace either. I usually wear this necklace in the shorter version {seen here}, but thought I'd walk on the wild side and change things up. Enough cat puns for one day? Until next time.
