{Top: Limited, Pants: Express, Cardigan: J Crew, Belts: J Crew & H&M, Shoes: Bandolino}
Today I lugged my tripod and portable high speed fan for these outfit photos. See that hair just a-blowin-in-the-wind? I’m getting all hi-tech here over at 26 and Counting, aren’t I? As much as I find it thoroughly amusing to imagine myself traipsing around with a fan and tripod, I must admit that the wind blown look is courtesy of Mother Nature. And while I’m on the topic of admitting details, I need to give a big thanks to Erin of Work With What You've Got who picked out today’s look. Today’s outfit is 100% Erin’s creative work {okay, 90% as I changed shoes at the last minute to avoid snow covered pants}. What do you think? I had been struggling to use this green cardigan so I was thrilled when she picked out an outfit that included it.
If I was grading this look I’d given Erin an A+. I’d like to think I’d eventually have styled something like this, but I think Erin knew all along that this green cardigan and pants were sliding under the radar. So a BIG thanks to Erin who must have telepathically read my 30 for 30 thoughts and picked out an outfit that is most certainly me. I just didn’t know it yet.
I love this outfit especially the ruffly top, I'll need to head to the Limited to get some of the wardrobe items for my new job! Thanks for the inspiration :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures today girl! And that outfit looks wonderful on you!
ReplyDeleteYESSSSS!!! PAPERDOLL TIME!!! I love this outfit on you :) Go Erin!!
ReplyDeleteOh, I really like this outfit! And I have the same pants but only ever wore a black cardigan with them. Nice to see another option here with the belt and cute ruffly shirt.
ReplyDeleteso cute! love the green cardi and that ruffled top is awesome! love how you belted it too to cinch your waist!
ReplyDeleteI love that the ruffled top looks like a scarf -- what a fun outfit!
ReplyDeleteI did the same type of thing last week! Casual Friday for me was black Tommy cardi, bright pink ruffled tee from JCrew and belted it with a hot pink skinny belt from a grocery store here! So good. I love letting ruffles peek out.
ReplyDeleteI have a random question! Have you always been good at belting outfits? Did you ever have a time when you didnt like it? I struggle to really know how to do it without making my sweater look odd or my body all...marshmellow man. I love the look and since you seem to have a similar body type I was wondering how you did it so well!
ReplyDeleteSuch a great look--in fact, I'm going to send it to all of my friends who work in professional offices, who are always whining to me that "all of my clothes for work are too boring!" NOT boring. Super cute, absolutely stylish, and completely polished. LOVE.
ReplyDeleteI love it! YAY! This was the best idea of EVER.
ReplyDeleteVery nice! I love the look of a ruffly blouse over a half-buttoned cardigan or V-neck sweater - gives so much interest and depth to an outfit. Also, may I just say: you are so ridiculously photogenic! I don't know if it's a natural gift or something you've developed, but I notice it with every post you do and figured I'd better pay the compliment instead of hoarding it. =)
ReplyDeleteI like the use of the belt! I've been afraid to try wearing belts with cardigans...even though it looks super cute on so many people. Maybe one of these days I'll muster up the nerve to just try it... :)
ReplyDeleteI love the limited for work basics and this top is probably my all-time favorite purchase!
ReplyDeleteThanks Ramsey!
ReplyDeleteGetting dressed this week has been so easy! I love this project!
ReplyDeleteI usually resort to black when wearing these pants as well. Big thanks to Erin for adding a bit of color!!
ReplyDeleteBelting is something I've gradually done more and more of. At first I thought it made me look hippy-er...but after some practice and finding the right size belts, I love to belt my outfits. As someone who is curvy, I usually belt my outfits at the smallest part of my waist. I also think thicker belts are nice introductory to the whole trend. The cover more and I think are they are typically more flattering.
ReplyDeleteOhhh thanks lady!
ReplyDeleteErin can you be my stylist everyday? Love this look!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh thanks Sara! I definitely get some scary shots but I think over time I've found better angles that result to {typically} better pictures. It's all a matter of practice and good lighting.
ReplyDeleteyou know the funny part I actually forgot? This was my second attempt because Suze and I choose really similar things my first go round and she got there first! LOLOLOL.
ReplyDeleteI love the ruffle blouse peeking out from under the cardigan! So cute! And your windblown look is great. Yesterday Matt and I tried to take outfit photos, but my hair kept blowing in my face... and it just didn't look as graceful as you do. Haha.
ReplyDeleteLove it! This has to be one of my favorite looks you've done! And I'm really enjoying the outdoor pictures as well. :D
ReplyDeleteMWAAHAHAHA!! (that's my evil laugh.)
ReplyDeleteSo, for some reason I though I had already commented, then realized "no, I responded to email." I love this outfit! Erin's such a good stylist :)

ReplyDeleteOh there several photos where you couldn't see my face because my hair was all over the place. Tricky wind.
ReplyDeleteOh you should! Just mess with the belt to find the most flattering postion
ReplyDeleteThe scarf totally makes the look! Nice styling Erin. And I totally fell for the thing about the fan and was amused picturing you lugging a fan into a field in the middle of winter!
ReplyDeleteNew to your blog- adore it!
ReplyDeleteYou look gorgeous! I love the scarf!
Hugs xoxo
Erin did a great job!
ReplyDeleteI have no idea what I would have thought of someone standing in the middle of a field in winter with their own fan.
You make such a cute doll and that outfit suits you really well! Nice photos with the snow :)
ReplyDeleteI love the look, and mother nature is loving you. blowing your hair for you.
