Things are bound to be a bit dotty today. In fact, I think I'll make dotty my go to saying for the day. In lieu of using the word crazy let's just go with dotty, okay? Crazy Dotty seems to be the word to describe my week. Between a battle with a cold, moving, moving some more, unpacking, and condensing I feel like my wheels have been spinning a bit out of control. If my business trip hadn't been pushed back I'm sure I would be going flipping dotty right about now. But today is not about my wide variety of issues, it's about the dots! The polka dots!

You may remember this top from my 30 for 30. It's my lone polka dot piece so I hope you don't mind me re-wearing it so quickly {if you do just close your eyes, okay?}. You know, I could have sworn I had more polka dots in my closet. But it turns out I just have a lot of shirts with circles, not dots, certainly not polka dots. Seeing as I'm still navigating between heaping piles and containers of clothes I opted to go with simple black. I've been wearing more color lately so it was refreshing to do something a bit different. Sure it's not the most creative choice, but it's simple and classic. I figure it at least gives the allusion that I am not going dotty on the inside. Here's to having my life a little bit more organized tomorrow.

If you need more dots head over to Everybody, Everywear and prepared to be inspired.

  16. I really like this look, basic but put together well. I scoured my closet for some polka dots today and am sad to report I own none! I was sure there was something with polka dots hanging out in the back of my closet, but I was wrong. I know what I'll be looking for next shopping day.

  17. Adorable outfit. As someone already said, basics, but very well put together and with just the perfect amount of flair and spunk with that shirt.

P.S. I see those Twilight books on your bookshelf, and excellent taste in TV shows. Lost, OC and Mad Men? I approve.

  22. That top is so cute! I hear you on the crazy week. At least I've gotten the "coming down with bronchitis" part of it mostly out of the way. Here's hoping it only gets better.

  24. I just love the ruffles on this polka dot top. If there were ever a polka dot blouse to own, this is the one. It looks fantastic with the black, I support your decision to skip the colour.

annnnd...yuck on packing/unpacking. there's always that box (or, in my case, 18 boxes) that you don't want to pack because it's a bunch of miscellaneous junk...and you don't want to UNpack them for the same reason, either. good luck with everything in all your dottiness. :)
