While I Was Out

Well hi there! It's me - Liz. You know that business casual girl who writes a blog in a totally non-business casual kinda way? Well I'm back from Florida {a bit sun burnt} and I survived the weekend in all it's GMAT-prep glory {by the way I'm open to suggestions and test taking tricks}.

I've have a few outfit posts back logged, but I wanted to share with you Conference Liz. Thanks to the extremely large full length mirror in my room, I'm able to give you a little peak at my "conference" attire. I say "conference" because it's really just my usual work look with just a bit more polish. Think work wear after 5pm.

There are a few outfits that didn't get photographed. C'est la vie. I suppose that means I get to re-wear them and blog them later, right?

  1. So, I'm basically in love with everything in this post. That blue Anthro top needs to be in my closet. And the black dress with pink belt currently is (or will be as soon as my Super-Mom adjusts it).

I completely agree, if it hasn't been blogged it doesn't count and can be re-worn. That's the same as a tree falling in the forest with no one to hear it, right?

  7. Don't you look adorable!
I have that black Gap dress too (a gift from my mom) and I love how versatile it is. I also love the second look with the cigarette pants and blue blouse. Very 60s chic!

  16. So gorgeous and put-together! I really love that you paired the blue top with a gray (silver?) skirt rather than basic black. And black and pink are so fun together!

  30. Liz, I took the GMAT about 2 years ago and I'm about to graduate from ASU in a few weeks. I would say study, but plan on taking it a few times. I bombed my first time and my brother told me not to be so arrogant, most MBA students at top 50 schools had to take it at least 3 times. I was lucky that my 2nd time worked out and I decided top 30 and living near family was a good move for me.
Best of luck to you, there are so many stylish, smart women I go to school with- you'll do fantastic- maybe even on your first try! And if all else fails, you sure look fantastic!

  31. Love the Conference Liz outfits..all of them! I took the GMAT (and later received my MBA in 2006) and didn't do as well as I had hoped but studied and did alright. It's important to know what scores the schools you are considering require for admission and scholarships. I only took the test once and had one school I was admitted to tell me I needed x number of points higher if I wanted to qualify for the next level of scholarship but another school I was admitted to gave me a pretty decent scholarship based on my original set of scores so I didn't bother retaking the exam. If you're hoping to get into a very competitive program you'll probably have to take the GMAT at least twice. Good luck with studying!!! : )
