{Top: Forever21, Skirt: JCrew, Cardigan: Banana Republic, Necklace: c/o Linley Shea, Shoes: Macy's}
It's still raining here {I won't even get into the still-well-below-normal-chilly-temps} but no worries I found this little covered spot in the park. I thought I had lucked out without a soul in sight, but turns out I interrupted some lady's morning coffee with my photo shoot. Actually, once I setup my tripod and started fumbling with my camera she opted to leave. Guess whatever I was doing wasn't as fun as getting rained on during your morning stroll around the park. To each his own.
I had been eying this skirt for a while but paying full price at JCrew is something I try to
I don't blame you for loving the skirt! I do, too. Cute top as well.
ReplyDeleteHow neat that you found a covered locale! Definitely something I need to do, since when it rains I usually hibernate inside.
I just started reading your blog and I really like it. You have some pretty cute outfits and are definitely giving me ideas for outfits of my own.
ReplyDeleteVery chic outfit and nice spot for photo.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the gorgeous new skirt, absolutely lovely. I too adore tweed, and purple is such a pretty colour. Hope the sun comes out for you soon Liz, our weather has been SO up and down as well. xx veronika
ReplyDeleteI "heart" purple. I'm so glad the women of Cincy saved this skirt for you! I love it! How do you make long cardis work so so well. I see you do it all the time, but I just can't make it work! Tim Gun is disappointed in me. :(

Sounds like I need to skip over to my J.Crew and see if they're having the same sale!
ReplyDeleteYay for things on sale!
ReplyDeletebonjour! i've been a subscriber for a few weeks but haven't commented yet...i figure it's about time for me to graduate from "silent creeper" to "first-time commenter" :) a few things:
ReplyDelete1. that skirt is awesome.
2. this is one of those instances when something in your exact taste seems to be the opposite of everyone else's taste, and for once that's a very good thing.
3. if it weren't for additional % off days at higher-end places like banana republic, j.crew, and even loft, my wardrobe would be that much poorer (ironic, because i guess that also means my bank account would be that much richer, but who's drawing parallel conclusions here? not me).
finally, i'm really liking this setting for your photos! something about the vibrant green and the contrast of the more industrial structure / neutral-colored but nicely aged stones against your very purple and feminine self. also, during the construction of that last sentence i realized just how much something can make complete sense in one's head and sound very strange when put into words. oh well :)
I love, love, love this look. You rock the monochromatic, lady-like look so well.
ReplyDeleteEven in all the rain, it is a little pot of gold to find a perfect skirt on a sales rack! Three cheers for you and your beautiful tweed skirt!
ReplyDeleteAy ay ay!! I love both the top and the skirt! You make my purply blue jewel toney heart melt. And I wish there were more locations like the one you have around for both rainy and too sunny days. We will prolly be getting more of the latter here soon and the thought of taking pictures at 5:45AM makes my sleep muscles hurt.
ReplyDeleteThis crappy weather needs to END ASAP! You look so good in blue! That and purplish/pinks are great colors for you. I am very jealous of your pencil skirt collection!

ReplyDeleteFirst of all.....let me just say, I love purple! It's my favorite color AND I like how you combined all the different shades of purple together! It looks very nice! It's too bad that lady sitting there at the park didn't want to sit and watch your photo op.
ReplyDeleteI love the colours in this outfit!

ReplyDeleteI absolutely love this outfit with the tweed and different shades of blue. It's been raining here for a while too- makes me want to spend all day curled up in bed with a good book!
ReplyDeleteBest day ever when you hold out and find an item on super-sale, don't you think? From then on, it's just destiny! One time, I DIDN'T buy a skirt at Target for $30 and I found it at my local thrift store three months later in MY size, WITH TAGS, for $3. Aww...love!
ReplyDeleteFirst time to your blog, and I'll definitely be following. You are too cute!!
