Wow that dress is amazing.
ReplyDeleteI'd go all black, save for maybe a burst of color at the belt - I'm thinking *hot pink* to combine the 60s and 80s vibe of the dress.

I follow you! I would wear this with a chunky bib necklace, colored tights, and black pumps (or flats if it's going to be a long day....let's be honest!)
ReplyDeleteI've been happily following your blog for almost a year now Liz :) I think colored tights are a must for this dress!

That dress is gorgeous Liz! It must be mine! I follow you via bloglovin. You didn't specify how we should follow you so I assume this is okay. I'd style this dress with some silver earrings, simple bangle bracelets, and some fun fall colored heels. Or I'd wear it with some gold earrings and some tall boots for fall. This dress would be fun to dress up several different ways.

I would style this dress in a simple way, but in extreme "audrey hepburn" style. Vintage pearls attached together by an old brooch. Black little gloves with an overcoat just draped over your shoulders and of course, black simple round toe heels, but with brian atwood height. And a dash of red lipstick to really make it pop.
ReplyDeleteLiz, this dress is so beautiful and chic and timeless. I hate to say but I would probably style this dress rather plainly. With the high boat neck, I would never wear a necklace (just not my style). I would probably wear just nylons in nude or sheer black and sky high heels. In the winter since I live in New England I would wear my slimmest black heeled boots. Love love love.
ReplyDeleteI think I'd style this dress very simply, since it's beauty & structure are so striking on their own. Definitely with an up-do hairstyle though!
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing dress! I think I'd have to wear some high black heels, a bright red cardi, and bright red lipstick in order to pull this look off. destinedfornow@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteI would style this dress with a pair of black suede & patent spectator heels I just got and a vintage gold/jewel tones clutch to go to the symphony. Then I would wear my hair in Veronica Lake waves with red lipstick.
ReplyDeleteKirsten
I follow you in so many different ways, now on to the dress. That's a pretty fancy peplum?, I think I would keep it simple with a dainty gold locket, but jazz it up with red nails.
ReplyDeleteBright red heels, small vintage earrings, and a thick belt.
ReplyDeletehmmmmm. i'd try some teal heels, a hot pink skinny belt and some vintage but bright earrings. The dress has an 80's/Mad Men feel that i love. Why not play with both styles?
ReplyDeleteThere are SO many ways to style a basic black dress! I just love all the remixing potential! You could cover up in a colorful cardigen, or throw an over size mens white button down over, a jean jacket would dress it down, you can have fun with funky tights, and then there are scarves, belts, jewelry and so many additional ways to change up the look its too hard to pick just one.

I follow your blog through the links from my sister's blog (MIss Vinyl Ahoy) and I would style this with miles and miles of pearl necklaces and my sky high (Louboutin) heels :)
