{Top: Target, Skirt & Belt: Limited, Necklace: Anthro, Shoes: Macys}
If this outfit seems the slightest bit familiar, well then chances are you're an avid reader of Kendi Everyday. But hey so am I! When she wore this outfit during the recent 30 for 30 I knew I could {and would} recreate it. That's one of the great things about style blogging, limitless inspiration. Yeah, sure there are the down sides too. The looks non-style bloggers {aka regular people} give you when you try to explain you blog....about clothes. Or the fact that people try not to stare, but stare nonetheless, when they catch you posing in the park. OR those precious extra 45 minutes of sleep you lose because you have to write a blog post.
Speaking of sleep, I didn't get much of it this weekend. But that's normal when you have a reunion with some of the nearest and dearest from college. Yeah, sure the cats {or as I said on twitter chats} lost, but gallivanting about Lexington with some of my favorite friends was fun regardless. So what if I may have told a few people I was still a junior in college?
Absolutely adorable! I remember this Kendi outfit :P
ReplyDeleteGreat look from a wonderfully inspiring lady! And that's awesome that you got to have fun with friends this weekend!
ReplyDeletePerfect re-creation! I love this bright pink skirt and anything with horizontal stripes.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you had a fun weekend in Lexington. While the game was on I said, "I'm rooting for Kentucky because Liz that I know from the internet is." =)
I had to take a look, and while it is quite copied you both look different! I'd be more likely to copy your look, the pink tights are awesome with Kendi's look but I'd go for black like you did.
ReplyDeleteI think I actually am a junior, or in the same range. I'm in university but all I know from the yearly titles are frosh for freshman and seniors of course. I'd say you'd pass for one! :)
I love it, Liz! You look darling.
ReplyDeleteI also love explaining a) a blog and b) a style blog to non-bloggers. The confusion in there eyes when I'm finished speaking is the reason I get up in the morning.
You make a lovely Kendi copy! I'm hoping to take a trip somewhere with my college pals sometimes soon!

I adore that aspect of blogging.
ReplyDeleteGreat outfit! I have a purple skirt on today and thought about styling like that too.

ReplyDeleteAnd, you have the best hair. Ha! I love it every. single. day! :)
you did a great job with this outfit and both you and Kendi are such inspiring fashionistas! your weekend sounds awesome too, btw. i would totally still tell people i'm still in college if i could get away with it. :)
ReplyDeletecute & little
This outfit looks great on both for you! Maybe I should copy you copying Kendi...did that make any sense?

I had the same type of weekend with college friends and no sleep :) You look oh, so pretty in your own Kendi- inspired outfit !
ReplyDeleteYou knocked the look out of the park! This purple skirt is just such a pretty color and really amps up a corporate look! Glad you enjoyed a weekend with old friends, even if your team lost.

ReplyDeleteI admire you for taking outfit photos with the tripod outside, but recently they haven't been frequent. Hope to see you and the tree again soon!!

Very cute Liz! Also, could you please post some photos of your decor? I really like how you decorated that book shelf in the background!
ReplyDeleteThis was my favorite outfit of Kendi's on the 30 x 30. I'm going to purchase a similar skirt and copy as well!
ReplyDeletethe colour of that skirt is awesome, so spring-like! :)

I always get so embarrassed when people I know in real life find out about my blog. You know they are thinking, what the heck is she doing? Oh well, I love it so somehow I'm able to muster my courage and carry on with my head held high.

ahh! haha i love reading about the awkwardness of blogging- it makes me feel less alone in it! especially the loosing sleep and posing in the park part. but hey the pros outweigh the cons so we're good!

ReplyDeleteThanks Lisa! Glad to hear you were cheering on the cats!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kesley! But I promise my hair is temperamental. And I can't rock the top knot quite like you ;)
ReplyDeleteNot sure I could get away with, but I told people anyways :)
ReplyDeleteIt makes total sense! I'm all for copying :)
ReplyDeleteI suppose that's how the weekend with college friends go?! Hopefully you're feeling more rested today!
ReplyDeleteAtleast we admit we're stealing. It's a form of flattery right?
ReplyDeleteThanks Emma!
ReplyDeleteIt such an awkward conversation, right? Probably why I don't bring it up :)
ReplyDeleteI glad we can all laugh together about the "weird" aspects of blogging!
ReplyDeleteI love the colored skirt paired with the striped tee. The combination works every time! So adorable!
