Work comments about my outfits are always interesting. Not sure what about a black turtleneck sweater dress reads “Superhero” but that’s the statement that was made about this outfit. Maybe it was the belt? Who knows. Superhero or not {I’m leaning towards not}, this black dress is pretty fantastic. It’s totally work appropriate, but feels much more like my favorite pjs.
I’m trying to get back into the swing of things after recuperating from studying and test taking this week. Pretty sure I was out of school just long enough to completely forget how miserable exams can be. But hey, I survived…now my gpa on the other hand, I’m not so sure.
That waist-defining belt is fantastic! I'd go with "super-hero" for sure - we could always a little bit of that in our lives, right?!
ReplyDeleteUmmm ... definitely NOT. That is a BEAUTIFUL dress. Don't listen to the haters. (PS: love, love, love a black dress with brown accessories. Well done!)
ReplyDeleteI love the way you styled this, and I love love sweater dresses! Good luck with the superhero thing!

I don't see the superhero thing... I do see a great outfit though! I love how you paired black + brown and I love your waist-defining belt.
ReplyDeleteDid you get highlights? It seems to show next to the all-black dress. You look fantastic!

Love it! And I totally get the work comment thing. A faux fur vest always brings some pretty interesting remarks...

Thanks! I didn't, but since my hair used to be highlighted it shows through when the all over brown color fades.

ReplyDeleteYOu look absolutely gorgeous in these pictures! The turtleneck dress is really nice and I like the camel-colored accessories you chose to wear it with. Oh and with your hair in that color it really pulls the whole look together nicely.
ReplyDeleteWHAT THE H IS WRONG WITH YOUR COWORKERS? You are looking super gorgeous in this outfit and with That Hair so maybe that's where the confusion came from??
ReplyDeleteYou look really amazing! Love this all-black look on you. Hope you're exams went well!
ReplyDeleteSo fun! Evidence that all-black is anything-but boring and expected. Lovely.
ReplyDeleteI love the black basis with the cognac accents :) so pretty! x
ReplyDeleteI love how you accessorized your black dress -- it looks a little festive for Halloween, but the brown accents keep it subtle. Your hair is looking so pretty -- love the little curls!
ReplyDeleteRemember when brown and black was considered a no no? I love to see it worn together and done right like you have styled it here!
ReplyDeleteI just found you & glad to be your newest follower because I love connecting with professional fashionistas ;) I have a career wear/fashion law blog myself.

ReplyDeleteI wore a bigger belt like this to work a couple of weeks ago and got Santa Clause comments (it was black)... seriously? Ugh. Some people.

ReplyDeleteA basic black dress is so nice to have because it is so easy to change up its look! I love how you paired it with neutrals.
