{Top: Anthro, Pants: Express, Blazer: Gap, Necklace: Urban Outfitters, Shoes: Macys}
My process for getting dressed in the morning usually goes something like this
Make a strong pot of coffee
Sip on way too hot coffee while standing clueless in my closet
Examine clothes for potential outfit
Get mad at myself for not thinking about this earlier
Sip on, hopefully cooler coffee.
Finally make a decision
Today another striped shirt caught my eye {hello problem with buying the same thing}. The wheels started turning {thanks to the coffee} and I had a little outfit idea in my head. Probably also thanks to the coffee, I realized I wore stripes the past two days. Not going to complain about the fact that my brain was actually working at 7am, but it caused a bit of a problem because now I had to start the outfit search over again {thankfully I still had some coffee}. So here you go, the outfit after the outfit. It’s kinda like the t-shirt after the t-shirt {yes that’s a jersey shore reference} but without any Ed Hardy involved.
I've been wearing the same cardigan for a week. It happens sometimes. But your floral substitution is adorable!
ReplyDeletei love your nude pumps!! and the blazer really pulls the outfit together!
ReplyDeletecute & little
I share your love and need for coffee right away in the morning. I like where your priorities are :)
ReplyDeleteI always want to wear stripes, too! it's so weird! And for some reason, whenever I go shopping, I always want to buy the same blue and white horizontal striped tops. I have soooo many!!! I have issues...
ReplyDeleteAnd I love your hair btw :) I can't wait until my hair is long to do that!
I find your narrative of your morning clothing trajectory hilarious, because it is nearly identical to my own morning habits. I'll add the step, however, wherein somewhere between staring desperately at my closet and spilling coffee on my robe (happens way too often for my own comfort), I sit down at my computer and pull up my fave fashion bloggers for inspiration. So, if for my sake alone, keep it coming!
ReplyDeleteIt's okay. I wouldn't have judged you if you had worn stripes 3 days in a row. As long as it's not the same stripes, that might be a little gross.
ReplyDeleteThis is a round 2 outfit!? PSH! Looks great!
ReplyDeleteLooking good girl!! Love the cropped pants! Sounds like my morning routine! I remember when I started my blog I kept a notebook and planned my outfits for everyday, sometimes a week in advance....I have NO clue where that notebook is now.
ReplyDeleteHigh five on the last minute outfit choices!
You are so cute. I love your hair, the blazer, the heels. Do you work with a lot of younger people who appreciate your style? :)
ReplyDeleteThat top is so adorable! I want to know what it looks like without the blazer, it looks so cute!
ReplyDeleteI love that blazer. Mine does not look that good. And I have to say, though they look super comfy and awesome, the pants looked like sweatpants to me on first glance. I'm not used to cropped dress pants, or maybe I'm just a little crazy.
ReplyDeleteI try to plan outfits but always ending up reaching for the same combo; dress pants/skirt, cardi, tee. I'm working on being more creative but it's so hard! :P

I do the same thing, I gravitate towards buying stuff that looks the same as stuff I already have. It annoys me so much! If it makes you feel better, I wouldn't have noticed the triple stripe play!

I am the same way in my closet in the mornings! love that top!
ReplyDeleteCute trousers! Nice final decision :) I haven't shopped at Express in forever, but several people have told me recently that they enjoy their pants/trousers. I should probably go check them out for the spring and summer season!
ReplyDeleteI think those flowers (or what kind of print is this actually?) are so refreshing after the stripes and suit you just as well! The nude shoes are my fav's as well!
ReplyDeleteYou look so cute, and every time you wear that shirt I love it. It's like the color of the crayon everyone fought over in kindergarten.
ReplyDeleteI recently found your blog and I have to say I'm addicted! Your outfits are so chic! And I have the same problem with getting mad at myself in the morning for not planning an outfit earlier! lol
ReplyDeleteAnyway, love the blue top and the nude shoes! Great combo!

Stripes are my absolute favorite thing to wear and I have a lot of them in my closet. Every morning I have to tell myself "No Kate, you can not wear stripes today. You already wore them 4 times this week." Mmmm stripes, how I love thee.
ReplyDeleteI really love the top you are wearing in this outfit. And it looks fantastic with that blazer.
Divergent Musings
Ha I totally relate! Although I don't do it with the coffee in hand. It is usually still being made while I ponder. Perhaps the process would be more fun with coffee in hand!
ReplyDeleteI like the top that you picked, not that there is anything wrong with stripes though...
